2017 Year Long Project

I am starting 2017 as I mean to go on ....crocheting...!!
I have decided to make a temperature blanket.....but oh the decisions....!!??
Here are some of the choices I pondered:-
- Yarn....how many to choose from?.. use something I know or go with a new/different
  yarn?
- Style of yarn?.....solid colour to give definite stripes or mottled/two-tone to give a
  softer blend?
- How many colours?.....just half a dozen or one for every temperature?
- Which colours?....random choice, rainbow, blues for cold & reds for warm...?
- What temperature range?....every degree, blocks of 3, 4, 5...?
- How many rows?....1 row for average temperature per day or 2 rows per day, x1 for
  minimum & x1 for maximum?
- What stitch?...dc...tr..?
- Pattern?......if I crochet x1 row per day it will make for a rather long blanket......if I
crochet x2 rows per day (min & max) it will be even longer....! So....I could do x2
columns 1 for min, 1 for max and join down the middle or 3 columns January-April, May-
August then Sept-Dec and join them together...!?

Here are some of my sketch ideas...

....and the colours I have chosen...

Each colour will represent the following temperatures:-

Indigo -2 decrees centigrade and below (far left ball)
Teal -1 0 1
Storm 2 3 4
Sage 5 6 7
Olive 8 9 10
Pistachio 11 12 13
Old Gold 14 15 16
Coral 17 18 19
Cherry 20 21 22
Raspberry 23+ (far right)

Meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but didn't quite get around to it....so in the meantime I have just crocheted the last row for January (I decided on x1 square per months in the end).......will post a picture when ends sewn in & border added.

To End 2016

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas in my house without a crochet tree ornament. This year I made 'Candy Canes' as gifts.

My last 2 crochet makes for 2016.... a cushion for my sister's birthday, to match her blanket I made last year......and a cushion for my Mum's birthday (finished New Years Eve ready for New Years Day).
Both 'Attic 24 Blooming Flower Cushion' (click to link to pattern)

2016 Roundup of Makes

Moogly CAL 2015 all finished and taking pride of place in my newly decorated Bedroom, along with matching cushion.

Here also is my Attic 24 'Jolly Chunky Bag'

I Made several birthday presents during 2016. including a cushion for my Mum and a blanket for my sister's 40th birthday.

The pattern for this was adapted from a blanket
pattern in 'Simply Crochet' issue no. 34 called 'Heart to Heart' by Cecile Balladino.

This blanket is made from a mix of ideas. The centre square is  Block #19 from the Moogly 2015 CAL 'Dream Circle by Carolyn Christmas' which I then added rounds to make larger. The smaller boarder squares are from Nana's Crochet Creations 'Granny Wheel' square

Lily Pond Blanket CAL

I was just preparing to post a round up of crochet projects from 2016 and realised I have not shared my finished Lily Pond Blanket....so here it is in all it's glory.

I am extremely pleased with how the blanket turned out and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the cal along with others.

The pattern is still available on Ravelry (click to follow link)

Lily Pond Blanket - CAL

Well, not content with taking part in x1 CAL....I'm going to be starting another...!!

I am keeping up with the Moogly CAL 2015 and now have 6 blocks finished. Each block takes about 2 days to complete so obviously I need something else to keep my fingers busy in between new patterns being released....so here it is the 'Lily Pond Blanket'....looks very pretty...xx

Moogly CAL 2015 Update

An update on what I am crocheting in 2015.....in January I decided to take part in my first ever CAL..! Here's the post from my Facebook crochet page https://www.facebook.com/wendyflocrochet

Well I have just decided to begin the New Year doing something i enjoy, I'm joining in with 'CAL 2015'. Every 2 weeks you receive a pattern for a new afghan square to Crochet ALong with everyone else who is joining in and by the end of the year...tah dah...a new blanket......looking forward to starting, now need to choose some wool.

Heading out for one last trip to the craft store? You might want to give the yarn aisle a stroll, and think about what colors you'll be using for the 2015 Moogly Afghan CAL! grin emoticonDetails at http://www.mooglyblog.com/2015-moogly-afghan-crochet-along/
